Ascoli Piceno, Fainplast gets a trigeneration plant for efficient energy production: over 1,500 tons of CO2 saved per year

Creating a more sustainable, efficient and technologically advanced energy production system, capable of making a concrete contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

This is the objective of the modern trigeneration plant with a capacity of 2.7 MW of electricity and 1.9 MW of refrigeration built by Genera Group – Energy & Sustainability Services Company specializing in projects in the energy efficiency and decarbonization sector – at Fainplast in Ascoli Piceno, a company at the forefront of the production of plastic material in granular form used in a large number of sectors.

The project, created by Genera under a ten-year Operating Rental contract, is part of the support strategies that Genera Group offers its industrial customers for the creation of efficient energy generation systems and the consequent reduction in consumption. The Ascoli Piceno plant is an extremely efficient trigeneration plant, built in collaboration with AB Energy and Noleggio Energia, which has the capacity to generate heat, cold and electricity with a saving of over 1500 tons of CO2/year equal to approximately 68,000 trees planted.

The innovative monitoring system implemented in collaboration with EGO Energy is now active, thanks to which Genera will be able to provide continuous and real-time support in the efficient management of energy generation and consumption systems.

Trigeneration allows for overall energy savings of over 30% compared to traditional systems, thanks to the simultaneous production of electricity, heat and cooling by efficiently exploiting the waste heat produced by the combustion of methane gas.: it therefore involves a lower environmental impact because it allows the same amount of energy to be produced with a lower consumption of fossil fuels.
